Problem: As we’ve grown we’ve found ourselves interacting more and more often amongst ourselves as well as with external parties. We’re concerned about the best way to go about this in terms of efficiency and utility, as well as, of course, the understandably stringent legislation surrounding the sharing of patient health data.
Since installing Claydata®’s PuttyHealth™ suite, including the central PuttyEnterprise™ management system, our internal communications are smoother and more integrated than ever. We routinely share éCabinet™ diagnostic images, for example, between the scan department and our consulting rooms. For this we use the PuttyShare™ platform.
More generally, we use PuttyShare™ to share patient records and/or any of these records' components both internally and externally. In particular, PuttyProviders™ can be granted a view of an éForm™ using PuttyShare™. Also, the distribution of medical summaries (éSummary™), medications lists (éScripts™), a patient’s medical history (éHistory™), and allergy and adverse events data (éAlerts™) are part of our everyday medical practice.
Similarly, PuttyMe® users are often allowed access and editing rights to an initial point of contact survey built using éForms™ while they sit in the waiting room. Such a form can be served to their mobile device or an iPad handed to them by reception using PuttyShare™.
Naturally, Claydata®’s ability to ensure the security of this sharing capability is of prime importance. We’ve found that PuttyShare™ navigates the complex and tightly legislated privacy, security, disclosure and compliance requirements by instituting a number of security controls. Our staff can, for instance, allow an external provider (a patient’s GP for example) time-restricted web-browser access to a particular document or record. Despite this platform utilising some of Claydata®’s most innovative security provisions, PuttyShare™ remains remarkably easy to use and efficient.
